Dermatology
Many pets suffer from skin and ear disease, and often there is an underlying cause which can be treated. Our veterinarians are trained to diagnose and treat literally hundreds of different skin and ear disorders. The process of narrowing down the possibilities starts with a detailed history and complete overall physical exam. Additional testing may be performed to determine whether the problem is due to ectoparasites (fleas, mites, lice, etc.), infection (particularly bacterial or fungal), allergies (fleas, food, or environmental allergens), metabolic disease, immune disorder, or even cancer. Sometimes there are several contributing factors. Once we determine the cause of the problem, we are able to recommend the best treatment options to alleviate your pet’s suffering.
